Heather and her team are a godsend! So warm and gentle and creative. They keep your child engaged, interested in reading, and excited to join every day. My son was struggling with his sight words when we found Heather. It’s only been 3 months and his reading has improved significantly!! This has improved his self-esteem and confidence and he is now motivated to read more books each day, which makes me so happy. This program and the teachers are amazing. I strongly encourage it for all families of young readers, no matter what reading level.

My son started working with Heather and her team in October and I am extremely impressed with his progress. When he started he was reading a level below the appropriate reading level and in 4 months my son has moved up 4 reading levels. I absolutely love my experience with The Online Reading Specialist. In just one year, My son has gained two years worth of reading skills. There has not only been a noticeable change in his reading abilities but in his confidence. Heather and the team really take their time to get to know the students and give support when needed. They also give suggestions on how you can assist your child in their growth when they send their weekly report. This is helpful in reinforcing what your child is working on during their sessions. We are thrilled we discovered The Reading Room. Our 8 year old son, Max, has been struggling with reading in public school, even with private tutoring. I was a little hesitant at first about online, but we really couldn’t find it in our schedule to maintain in person tutoring. The Reading Room turned out to be to be exactly what Max needed. Max has really enjoyed the staff, the other classmates, and the activities in the reading room. Everyone is genuinely interested in helping the children. The team’s exceptional patience, especially in the early evening when kids are hungry and tired, is truly commendable. Max has not only improved in reading but also found a place where he enjoys spending “extra time”.

Heather and her team are engaging, warm, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful reading specialists. My son was reluctant to do reading work over the summer, but he ended up enjoying the nightly sessions in the reading room and was able to make progress. I particularly appreciated the individual time taken with each child, and the weekly reports which provide great insights into each child’s strengths and challenges as a reader.
